How to Participate

Most units register for the full weekend — Friday arrival, open field camping through Monday. A small backpacking contingent hikes in Friday evening (limited spots; contact us before registering). Day visits are free for Saturday's Scout program or Sunday's public exhibitions. Volunteering? The Volunteer page has roles and a dedicated interest form.

Registration Pricing

Registration opens June 1, 2026. The troop fee includes two leaders; each additional scouter is $15 and includes a commemorative patch.

Tier Who Price What's Included
Troop + Two Leaders Unit registration with two registered leaders $175 Unit spot, two leaders, facilities, consumables, awards; includes commemorative patches for both leaders
Additional Scouters Each youth or adult beyond the two leaders $15 Commemorative centennial patch, awards, event program
Day Visitor Saturday Scout program or Sunday demonstrations Free Food available for purchase on site; day parking provided
Volunteer / Staff Non-unit event support Comped: meals, t-shirt, and patch included; camping spot if staying overnight

Unit-based registration: troops pay $175 for the unit and two leaders, plus $15 per additional scouter. Pricing set in coordination with Mayflower Council BSA.

Financial hardship: No Scout should be turned away for lack of funds. Email info@mendoncentennialcamporee.org — the committee handles all requests confidentially.

Backpacking

Space is limited — early and special registration required. Backpacking troops must arrive Friday night.

Arrival & Trail Access

Backpacking troops hike in on Friday evening and camp in the designated backpacking area for the full weekend. Final trail start points and routes are confirmed with the committee in June 2026. Examples under discussion include:

  • Henry P. Clough Elementary School
  • Quisset Road
  • Daniels Farm
  • Hop Brook
  • Other locations (coordinate with the 1926 Committee)

See Backpacking for suggested route descriptions and requirements.

Pack Light, Be Ready

Backpacking troops should travel light with everything they need to survive and thrive at the camporee for the full weekend — from Friday night through Sunday.

  • Pack-in / pack-out everything
  • Full camping kit: tent, sleep system, cook gear, food
  • Leave No Trace throughout
  • Coordinate with the 1926 Committee for your specific trail route

Backpacker registration is separate from standard unit registration. Contact us to inquire about backpacking spots — space fills quickly.
