The 1926 Committee
Water, bathrooms, first aid, fire rules, and maps for a weekend at Inman Hill. Rain or shine, the event is on.
There is no running water at Inman Hill. Bring enough drinking water for yourself, plus a bottle or cup. The 1926 Committee also brings a shared supply for the weekend (about one gallon per person per day). Handwashing stations are for hands — they are not a drinking-water supply.

Troop 1 and Pack 1 cook Saturday and Sunday breakfast (cinnamon buns, pancakes, sausages) and Saturday lunch (hamburgers and hot dogs). Turkey dinner is Saturday 5:00–7:00 PM in the 1926 Committee field — Class A for dinner and the campfire. Friday dinner is bring-your-own. Coffee is available with the weekend meals. There is no snack bar on site.
The 1926 Committee field (picnic tables against the woods, left side as you head in) is where the committee cooks and camps; Friday night’s community fire is there. Check in there on arrival. Camper tents are in the cleared field (about 20–30 tents), with a second field if needed. Tent spots are assigned at check-in. Keep children clear of the trail entrance and the road.

Everyone follows these rules. Exceptions are approved only by the 1926 Committee.
Community fires only — Friday night in a portable pit in the 1926 Committee field, and Saturday’s main fire in the designated field. The Mendon Fire Department builds and tends Saturday’s fire. No individual fires at tents or in the woods. Campfires and open flames are only allowed in portable fire pits the fire department approves. No ground fires. Keep water or an extinguisher at hand.
All fires are subject to approval that weekend by the Mendon Fire Department Chief. In overly dry conditions we may need to run a fireless weekend — the event will go on either way.
Use portable fire pits or camp stoves for cooking. Follow fire department and event staff instructions. Individual recreational fires are not permitted.
Pack out all trash, restore campsites, and protect trails. This is town conservation land. Nothing permanent is built — the fields return to the town unchanged.
Camp only in the assigned camping area. Stay within event boundaries and follow posted instructions. Keep children clear of the trail entrance and public traffic areas.
Motorized vehicles may be used in the camping and program area for setup and gear. No motorized vehicles on the trail system. Drive only during approved times and on approved access routes.
Families and guests are welcome to watch Saturday’s daytime program. Anyone staying for the turkey dinner should already be on the weekend headcount — last-minute dinner questions go to info@mendoncentennialcamporee.org.
Alcoholic beverages, marijuana, and illegal drugs are prohibited on the grounds — in campsites, in vehicles, and anywhere on site. Smoking, vaping, and other tobacco use are limited to adults, away from tents, dry grass, and fuel, and out of sight of youth.
Anyone who arrives under the influence will be asked to leave the site.
Parts of the surrounding land are a state Wildlife Management Area where hunting is legal in season, and Massachusetts archery deer season is open during our Friday and Saturday. Hunting is prohibited statewide on Sundays.
Event rules apply to everyone inside our footprint, but they do not bind lawful hunters on adjacent state land. Verify current season dates with MassWildlife.
