The Troop 1 Mendon Centennial Scout Camporee is a large-scale event designed to bring together local Scouting units, families, alumni, and community supporters for a weekend of challenge, service, and reflection.

This inclusive event is projected to host approximately 300 youth and adults from associated towns, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, and alumni. Programming blends traditional Scout skills, STEM activities, community engagement, and the campfire circle.

Troop 1 Mendon's story also includes the local American Legion tradition tied to Roger L. Wood — a legacy of veteran service and civic commitment that continues to shape the troop's culture of leadership and community responsibility.

Rooted in Mendon

This camporee is a celebration of and by the town of Mendon. For a century, Troop 1 has grown up alongside the community — and this milestone weekend is the whole town's to share. We are proud to partner with the neighbors who make Mendon, Mendon.

A Town That Shows Up

The Mendon Lions Club runs the weekend snack bar and Sunday breakfast, the Mendon Police Department brings K9 demonstrations, the Mendon Fire Department supports our program and fire safety, and the Mendon Historical Society helps tell the story of our 100 years. This is local participation at its best.

Everyone's Invited

Day visitors are free. Sunday's community exhibitions are open to Mendon families and friends — come see what a century of Scouting in our town looks like, whether or not you wear a uniform.

A Legacy Gift

When the weekend is over, any remaining committee funds are donated to the Mendon Food Pantry — so the celebration leaves the town a little stronger than it found it.
