Volunteer Benefits

Volunteers are the backbone of the camporee. In appreciation for your time and service, every volunteer receives:

Meal Tickets

All volunteers receive meal tickets covering meals during your shift. You'll be fed and ready to serve throughout the weekend.

Official Volunteer Shirt

Every volunteer receives a special centennial camporee shirt identifying you as part of the event support team — so Scouts, leaders, and families know who to come to for help.

Be Part of History

The Mendon Centennial Camporee happens once. Volunteers are woven into the legacy of 100 years of Scouting in Mendon — it's a meaningful way to give back to the community that raised these Scouts.

Volunteer Roles

Express your interest now — role assignments and shift schedules are confirmed in the spring. We match volunteers to roles based on your skills and availability.

Pre-Event: Site Preparation

Trail clearing, field prep, and setup work parties at Inman Hill happen in the weeks before October 9. Work party dates are announced in Spring 2026.

A natural fit for Eagle Scout project candidates, local alumni, and community members who want to get their hands in the dirt before the gates open.

Event Weekend: On-Site Roles

We need help across the full weekend. Current roles include:

  • Station leads — Scoutcraft, STEM, and relay
  • Check-in desk and registration support
  • Parking and arrival logistics
  • Food service (Lions Club snack bar)
  • Campfire program support
  • First aid station (nursing background preferred)
  • Community exhibition coordination
  • General floater and logistics roles

Post-Event: Monday Cleanup

Site cleanup, Leave No Trace restoration, and equipment breakdown on Monday, October 12. A few hours of work that makes a lasting difference for the conservation land we're borrowing.

The 1926 Committee
